and your face is lovely. NLT
Get up, My dear friend,
fair and beautiful lover—come to Me!

like a seal on your arm.

Even much water cannot put out the flame of love;
floods cannot drown love.
If a man offered everything in his house for love,
people would totally reject it. NCV
Hang my locket around your neck,
wear my ring on your finger.
Love is invincible facing danger and death.
Passion laughs at the terrors of hell.
The fire of love stops at nothing—
it sweeps everything before it.
Flood waters can’t drown love,
torrents of rain can’t put it out.
Love can’t be bought, love can’t be sold—
it’s not to be found in the marketplace. MSG
Is. 38:17
It was for my own good
that I had such troubles.
Because You love me very much,
You did not let me die
but threw my sins far away. NCV
It seems it was good for me
to go through all those troubles.
Throughout them all You held tight to my lifeline.
You never let me tumble over the edge into nothing.
But my sins You let go of,
threw them over Your shoulder—good riddance! MSG
Is. 43:1-2, 4
Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.
I’ve called your name. You’re mine.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
it won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I paid a huge price for you:
all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That’s how much you mean to Me!
That’s how much I love you!
I’d sell off the whole world to get you back,
trade the creation just for you. MSG
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.
When you cross rivers, you will not drown.
When you walk through fire, you will not be burned,
nor will the flames hurt you.
Because you are precious to me,
because I give you honor and love you,
I will give other people in your place;
I will give other nations to save your life. NCV
Is. 49:15-16
And the Lord answered: Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have indelibly imprinted—tattooed a picture of you—on the palm of each of My hands; your walls are continually before Me. AMP
Can a mother forget the infant at her breast,
walk away from the baby she bore?
But even if mothers forget,
I’d never forget you—never.
Look, I’ve written your names on the backs of My hands.
The walls you’re rebuilding are never out of My sight.
Your builders are faster than your wreckers.
The demolition crews are gone for good.
Look up, look around, look well!
See them all gathering, coming to you?
As sure as I am the living God—God’s Decree—
you’re going to put them on like so much jewelry,
you’re going to use them to dress up like a bride. MSG
Is. 54:5-6
The God who made you is like your husband.
His name is the Lord All-Powerful.
The Holy One of Israel is the one who saves you.
He is called the God of all the earth.
You were like a woman whose husband left her,and you were very sad.
You were like a wife who married young
and then her husband left her.
But the Lord called you to be his
says your God. NCV
For your Maker is your husband,
The LORD of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.
For the LORD has called yoLike a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Like a youthful wife when you were refused,
Says your God. NKJV
Is. 61:10
The Lord makes me very happy;
all that I am rejoices in my God.
He has covered me with clothes of salvation
and wrapped me with a coat of goodness,
like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding,
like a bride dressed in jewels. NCV
I will sing for joy in God,
explode in praise from deep in my soul!
He dressed me up in a suit of salvation,
he outfitted me in a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo
and a bride a jeweled tiara.
For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers,
and as a garden cascades with blossoms,
So the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom
and puts praise on display before the nations. MSG
Is. 62:4-5
You shall no more be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land be called Desolate any more. But you shall be called Hephzibah, (My delight is in her), and your land be called Beulah (married); for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married, owned and protected by the Lord. AMP
You’ll get a brand-new name
straight from the mouth of God.
You’ll be a stunning crown in the palm of God’s hand,
a jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God.
No more will anyone call you Rejected,
and your country will no more be called Ruined.
You’ll be called Hephzibah (My Delight),
and your land Beulah (Married),
Because God delights in you
and your land will be like a wedding celebration.
For as a young man marries his virgin bride,
so your builder marries you,
And as a bridegroom is happy in his bride,
so your God is happy with you. MSG
Is. 63:9
I’ll make a list of God’s gracious dealings,
all the things God has done that need praising,
All the generous bounties of God,
his great goodness to the family of Israel—
Compassion lavished,
love extravagant.
He said, “Without question these are my people,
children who would never betray me.”
So He became their Savior.
In all their troubles,
He was troubled, too.
He didn’t send someone else to help them.
He did it himself, in person.
Out of His own love and pity
He redeemed them.
He rescued them and carried them along
for a long, long time. MSG
In all their suffering he also suffered,
and he personally rescued them.
In his love and mercy he redeemed them.
He lifted them up and carried them
through all the years. NLT
Jer. 31:3
Long ago the Lord said to Israel:
“I have loved you, My people, with an everlasting love.
With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.” NLT
God told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will.
Expect love, love, and more love!” MSG
Hos.2:19
I will betroth you to Me forever;
I will betroth you in righteousness and justice,
in love and compassion. NIV
And I will make you My promised bride forever.
I will be good and fair;
I will show you My love and mercy. NCV
Hos. 11:4
I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love, and I was to them as one who lifts up and eases the yoke over their cheeks, and I bent down to them and gently laid food before them. AMP
I led them with cords of human kindness,
with ropes of love.
I lifted the yoke from their neck
and bent down and fed them. NCV
New Testament
Jn. 3:16-17
For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him. NLT
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only begotten unique Son, so that whoever believes in, trusts in, clings to, relies on Him shall not perish, come to destruction, be lost, but have eternal everlasting life. AMP
Jn. 15:9
I’ve loved you the way My Father has loved Me. Make yourselves at home in My love. If you keep My commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in My love. That’s what I’ve done—kept My Father’s commands and made Myself at home in His love. MS
I have loved you, just as the Father has loved Me; abide in My love—continue in His love with Me. AMP

For the Father Himself tenderly loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from the Father. AMP
…for the Father Himself loves you dearly because you love Me and believe that I came from God. NLT
Jn. 17:2
I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and definitely recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them even as You have loved Me. AMP
I will be in them and you will be in Me so that they will be completely one. Then the world will know that you sent Me and that you loved them just as much as you loved Me. NCV
Rom. 5:5
For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. NLT
…for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. AMP
Rm. 5:8
But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. NLT
e can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put His love on the line for us by offering His Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to Him. MSG
Rm. 8:1
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.” NLT
For the Spirit which you have now received is not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption—the Spirit producing sonship—in the bliss of which we cry, Abba Father! Father! AMP
Rm. 8:37-39
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. NLT
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. NIV
2 Cor. 6:1
And I will be your Father,
and you will be My sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty. NLT
And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. AMP
Gal. 2:20
I was put to death on the cross with Christ, and I do not live anymore—it is Christ who lives in me. I still live in my body, but I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself to save me. NCV
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. NLT
Gal. 4:5-7
You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as His own children because God sent the Spirit of His Son into our lives crying out, Papa! Father!” Doesn’t that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you’re also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance. MSG
Since you are God’s children, God sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, and the Spirit cries out, “Father.” So now you are not a slave; you are God’s child, and God will give you the blessing He promised, because you are His child. NCV
Eph. 1:4-6
How blessed is God! And what a blessing He is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in Him. Long before He laid down earth’s foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love. Long, long ago He decided to adopt us into His family through Jesus Christ. What pleasure He took in planning this! He wanted us to enter into the celebration of His lavish gift-giving by the hand of His beloved Son. MSG
That is, in Christ, He chose us before the world was made so that we would be His holy people—people without blame before Him. Because of His love, God had already decided to make us His own children through Jesus Christ. That was what He wanted and what pleased Him, and it brings praise to God because of His wonderful grace. God gave that grace to us freely, in Christ, the One he loves. NCV
Eph. 2:4-7
But God–so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,
Even when we were dead, slain by our own shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for it is by grace, His favor and mercy which you did not deserve, that you are saved, delivered from judgment, and made partakers of Christ’s salvation.
And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together, giving us joint seating with Him in the heavenly sphere by virtue of our being in Christ Jesus, the Messiah, the Anointed One.
He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable – limitless, surpassing – riches of His free grace, His unmerited favor, in His kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus. AMP
But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of His grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all He has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. NLT
Eph. 3:17-19
May Christ through your faith actually dwell—settle down, abide, make His permanent home—in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints—God’s devoted people, the experience of that love—what is the breadth and length and height and depth of it;
That you may really come to know—practically, through experience for yourselves the love of Christ, which far surpasses [mere knowledge without experience; that you may be filled through all your being unto all the fullness of God—may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and [become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself! AMP
And I ask Him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. MSG
Col. 1:13
The Father has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love…AMP
God rescued us from the dark power of Satan and brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son…CEV
2 Pet. 1:3
Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust. MSG
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. NIV
1 Jn. 3:1
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. NIV
SEE WHAT an incredible quality of love the Father has given, shown, bestowed on us, that we should be permitted to be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know—recognize, acknowledge—us is that it does not know—recognize, acknowledge—Him. AMP
1 Jn. 4:7-8
… for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. NIV
1 Jn. 4:9-10
My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed His love for us: God sent His only Son into the world so we might live through Him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God. MSG
This is how God showed His love to us: He sent His one and only Son into the world so that we could have life through Him. This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us. He sent His Son to die in our place to take away our sins. NCV
I Jn. 4:14
Everyone who confesses that Jesus is God’s Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God. We know it so well, we’ve embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God. MSG
1 Jn. 4:16-19
And we know, understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience, and believe, adhere to and put faith in and rely on, the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in Him.
In this union and communion with Him love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, with assurance and boldness to face Him, because as He is, so are we in this world.
There is no fear in love—dread does not exist—but full-grown complete, perfect love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and so he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love- is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection.
We love Him, because He first loved us. AMP
This is how we know we’re living steadily and deeply in Him, and He in us: He’s given us life from His life, from His very own Spirit. Also, we’ve seen for ourselves and continue to state openly that the Father sent His Son as Savior of the world. Everyone who confesses that Jesus is God’s Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God. We know it so well, we’ve embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God.
God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s.
There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.
We, though, are going to love—love and be loved. First we were loved, now we love. He loved us first. MSG
Rev. 1:5-6
He is the One who loves us, who made us free from our sins with the blood of his death. He made us to be a kingdom of priests who serve God his Father. To Jesus Christ be glory and power forever and ever! Amen. NCV
And from Jesus Christ the faithful and trustworthy Witness, the Firstborn of the dead—first to be brought back to life—and the Prince Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him Who ever loves us and has once for all loosed and freed us from our sins by His own blood,
And formed us into a kingdom—a royal race, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever. Amen. AMP
Rev. 21:2-4
I saw Holy Jerusalem, new-created, descending resplendent out of Heaven, as ready for God as a bride for her husband. I heard a voice thunder from the Throne: “Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood, making His home with men and women! They’re His people, He’s their God. He’ll wipe every tear from their eyes. Death is gone for good—tears gone, crying gone, pain gone—all the first order of things gone.” The Enthroned continued, “Look! I’m making everything new. Write it all down—each word dependable and accurate.” MSG
And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It was prepared like a bride dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Now God’s presence is with people, and He will live with them, and they will be His people. God Hmself will be with them and will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain, because all the old ways are gone.” NCV
